Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci when she was just seven years old. Her first competitive event was The National Junior Championships in which she was 13th place in 1969. In 1970, Comaneci won. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974, she was an all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals as well with one silver. She became the first female to do a reverse double salo with the bar with a parallel surface in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment business began during her teens when she began doing figure skating alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a professional in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. Her first professional gig was figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events that included theatrical performances.
